Think I noticed Kouyate twice in the first half.

What puzzles me though is how any Premier League footballer can commit a foul throw. Not once, but twice.

We're a fucking shambles Noble rarely finds a forward pass Kouyate is doing a great impression of a headless chicken Tore and Zaza offer nothing and we have a manager who has let the summer adulation go to his head He Thinks we should have won today I've got news for you Slaven two shots on target isn't how you win fucking games against a pile of wank like Boro

That's 60 yds up the pitch
Be on the TARPAULIN soon

Too many times they were allowed to stroll out and FORSHAW sat in the middle and got endless uncontested possession with us sitting off and letting them 20yds into our half where we seemed to be bunched together.
Then just passed around us and took 3 players out of the game.
Main problem is that half our team seemed unwilling or unable to press them and win the ball back so they were relaxed in possession.

Should have been 20 yards further up the pitch all game.

40% poession at home. Not right.

Adrian needs to be dropped, a shadow of the player from last season.
Seems since he get into the Spanish squad he's been shit!

I find our failure to press the opposition very frustrating sometimes.

I've thought for some time (including last season) that we hardly move off the ball. Certainly compared to the top teams, also Bournemouth, etc. Really static most of the time.

Obiang superb

Tore, strange decision starting with him, backfired, least bilic had the balls to change that at half time

Zaza, seen enough now to know this fella is average at best, he's a forward who offers nothing in terms of movement or desire to want to get into the box

Unfortunate with the Byram injury as I think we had ammunition on the bench to win the game but that forced the hand too early

Until Sakho gets back and firing we will continue to struggle as there is no outlet

Collins floated up a number of shit balls which people had no chance of doing anything with.

Obiang stays in the side, backed KOUYATE before this match but he is struggling so he has to miss out and you have to get lanzini back in behind Sakho

Sir Alf 6:50 Sat Oct 1

Totally agree about Kouyate, I've been saying the same thing for weeks. He just aint the player he was. He wanders around like a lost thing rarely breaking into a jog, and pointing like a Nolan Sister as the game passes him by. It leaves Noble and Payet trying to do his job as well as their own.

Having said that he perked up a lot after Payets goal. Maybe thats the way forward.
Turn him into Payets minion
a. Get the ball pass it to Payet
b. Make runs to buy Payet space
C Get onto positions to be an outlet for Payet.
d Always know where Payet is

You're getting confused between results and players ability.

This squad is far greater than the one we came up with under Allardyce, just because results are worse doesn't disprove that.

You've got to be moronic not to understand that these players are under performing (for whatever reason) rather than shit!

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Middlesboro - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
Well apart from needing 2 fb and 2 midfield players we are in a good place, sarcasm alert
Can payet carry the team for a full season, if so, he is God
In January get balotelli in and bin Zaza
Let us hope we can get to 4th bottom by season end.
The Sakho situation is the club's own fault. they effectively told him he was going to be 3-4 choice on basis on signing a top striker, which has not happened

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Middlesboro - The Official Match Thread FT 1-1
I thought we were a bit better today, but we couldn't have been any worse than we have been

Clearly none of the summer signings have shown to be an improvement on what we already had so far

Ayew, will be an improvement

Fletcher, possibly Feghouli & Calleri might turn out OK, given time

Tore & Zaza might as well go now

Until we get the old guard back, Carroll, Sakho up front & Cresswell back at LB we will continue to struggle

Most of the 1st team players look bereft of confidence

Adrian looked a shadow of the keeper he was last season, flapping at crosses & not coming out quickly enough to cut out through balls

Reid still looks nervous, Collins had a good game but he's lost what little pace he had since last season

Ogbonna is solid & is one of our few players who rarely gives the ball away

Lanzini looks like he's still getting back into the swing of it after his injury

Antonio is OK & one of our few threats going forward

Payet is God

The rest were poor especially Kouyate

We came back from a goal down.

Got to help with confidence. It stopped the run of defeats.

Could have been better, could have been so much worse.

The fight back had to start somewhere, it's not going to be pretty or much fun but if we are going to survive we are going to have to grind it out week by week.
It could be a long winter.

Face - you said the new players have improved the squad. It's demonstrably clear that they haven't, and you seem to be in a minority of one who think they have.
I'd stop digging if I were you.
